EUROSTAR GROUP CONFIRMS CREMONINI FOR THE ON-BOARD CATERING SERVICES ON THE 60 ENGLISH TRAINS THAT PASS THROUGH THE EUROTUNNEL EVERY DAY FOR A FURTHER THREE YEARS UP TO 31 MAY 2014.

EUROSTAR'S COLLABORATION WITH CREMONINI, UNINTERRUPTED FROM 2000, CONTINUES.

OVERALL REVENUES OF ABOUT 180 MILLION EURO FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS.


The Cremonini Group, through its subsidiary Momentum Services Ltd, has obtained an extension of the contract signed with the English Eurostar Group Ltd for the operation of the on-board catering services on the 60 high speed trains that connect London to Paris and Brussels daily through the Eurotunnel.

The existing contract, signed in 2007, has been renewed until 31 May 2014. This is the fourth consecutive appointment that Cremonini has been awarded on the English Eurostar trains, after having won two international tenders, the first in 2000 and the second in 2007, in addition to two subsequent renewals.

Our leadership is confirmed in one of the more interesting European market segments for catering ".

The agreement, which will develop overall revenues of about 180 million Euro, regards welcome services for travellers in the VIP Lounges of the stations and on-board catering for around 9,500,000 million passengers who use the Eurostar trains every year.

Cremonini's leadership on the high speed trains in Europe is confirmed with this contract. The Group is now the 1st European player in the on-board trains catering market, with over 1,000 trains served daily in 6 European countries and 35 million customers per annum.

Cremonini's catering sector achieved total consolidated revenues of 675.8 million Euro in 2010, up by 21.0%., through its subsidiary Chef Express Spa, The revenues, from the on-board trains business alone, were 355.9 million Euro, all earned abroad.

The Group is in fact present on the English Eurostar trains connecting London, Paris and Brussels through the Eurotunnel, on the Belgian Thalys trains on the Brussels, Paris, Cologne, Dusseldorf and Amsterdam routes, on over 85% of the French railway network (TGV and iDTGV high-speed trains); it is also present on the entire Spanish AVE high-speed train network and those trains travelling over a long distance. Cremonini, other than its on-board trains catering services, manages the VIP Lounges of the principal European stations of Paris, Brussels and London.


Cremonini, with over 12,300 employees and total 2010 revenues of 3.04 billion Euro, about 35% of which was earned abroad, is one of the largest food groups in Europe and operates in three business areas: production, distribution and catering; the Group is the leader in Italy in the production of beef and meat-based transformed products (Inalca and Montana) and the marketing and distribution of food products to the food service sector (MARR). It is the leader in Europe in on-board train catering and holds the Italian leadership with regard to railway station buffets; furthermore it is classified in second place in the motorway catering market in Italy and boasts a significant presence in the main Italian airports (Chef Express). Finally, it is present in commercial catering with its Roadhouse Grill brand steakhouse chain.
