Information on the use of cookies

Cremonini’s website uses cookies and similar technologies to guarantee the proper functioning of procedures and improve the experience of using online applications. This document provides detailed information on the use of cookies and similar technologies, on how they are used by Cremonini and how to manage them.

Definitions

Cookies are short pieces of text (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to memorise information about the client (the browser) to be reused during the same visit to the site (session cookies) or further on, even after days (persistent cookies). Cookies are memorised, according to user preferences, from a single browser onto the specific device being used (computer, tablet, smartphone).
Similar technologies, such as, for example, web beacons, transparent GIF and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to gather information on user behaviour and use of services.
From now on in this document cookies and all similar technologies will be referred to by simply using the word "cookie".

Types of cookies

Based on the characteristics and use of cookies, we can distinguish several categories:

Cookies that are strictly necessary.

These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of Cremonini’s site and are used to manage the login and to access the reserved functions of the site. The duration of the cookies are strictly limited to the working session (once the browser is closed they are deleted). The public part of the Cremonini site can normally be used.

Analysis and performance cookies.

These cookies are used to anonymously collect and analyse the traffic and the use of the site. These cookies allow, for example, even without identifying the user, to detect if the same user returns to connect at different times. They also allow you to monitor the system and improve its performance and usability. The deactivation of these cookies can be done without any loss of functionality.

Cookie profiling.

These are permanent cookies used to identify (anonymously or not) user preferences and improve their navigational experience. The Cremonini website does not use cookies of this type.

Third-party cookies.

Visiting a website you can receive cookies both from the site visited ("owners") and from websites managed by other organisations ("third-parties"). A notable example is the presence of "social plug-ins" for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. It relates to parts of the page visited generated directly by these sites and integrated into the page of the host site. The most common use of social plug-ins is aimed at sharing content on social networks. The presence of these plug-ins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all the sites operated by third parties.
The Cremonini website does not use cookies of this type.

Google Analytics

Cremonini’s website also includes certain components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Also in this instance these are third-party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookies). Google Analytics uses "cookies" to collect and analyse anonymous information on the way the Cremonini website is used (including the IP address of the user). This information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it in order to prepare reports for Cremonini’s operators about the activities on the website. This site does not use (and does not allow third-parties to use) Google’s analysis tool to track or collect identifiable personal information. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google or seek to link an IP address with the identity of a user. Google can also communicate this information to third-parties when required by law or where such third-parties process the information on Google's behalf. For more information, please refer to the link below: https://www.google.it/policies/privacy/partners/
The user can selectively disable Google Analytics by installing on their browser the opt-out component provided by Google. To disable Google Analytics, please refer to the link below: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

The characteristics of cookies used on the website are shown in the table below.

Duration of cookies

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the closure of the browser or the execution of the logout command. Other cookies "survive" the closure of the browser and are also available for future visits. These cookies are called persistent and their duration is set by the server at the time of their creation. In some cases a deadline is fixed, in other cases the duration is unlimited. Cremonini does not use persistent cookies.

Cookie Management

The user can decide whether to accept cookies using the settings on their own browser. Warning: Disabling all or part of the technical cookies can compromise the functionality of the site reserved for registered users. On the contrary, the navigation of the public content is possible even when cookies are completely disabled.
Disabling "third party" cookies does not prejudge navigability in any way.
The setting can be defined specifically for different websites and web applications. Furthermore the best browsers allow you to define different settings for "owner" and "third- party" cookies. For example, in Firefox using the menu Tools -> Options -> Privacy, you can access a control panel where you can specify whether or not to accept the different types of cookies and proceed to remove them.
