Inalca is one of the main operators in the beef sector in Europe and oversees the entire production chain, from breeding to the finished product.

The company produces and sells a vast selection of fresh or frozen beef, vacuum-packed in sterile environments, ready-to-eat, pre-cooked, or pre-fried products with the Montana, Fiorani and Montagna brands and well as with private labels.

Inalca is also the leading producer of meat preserved in jelly, corned beef, meat in broth, and meat extracts with the historic Montana and Manzotin labels in Italy, and with private labels and foreign brands including Bill Beef, Texana, and Inalca.

The company is the leading Italian producer of fresh and frozen hamburgers, mainly serving Ho.Re.Ca channels.

Products are sold through Organised Distribution (supermarkets, hypermarkets, mini markets, and discount stores) through traditional retail and to the foodservice sector

The production structure: innovation and technology

For 60 years Inalca has continued to innovate the meat industry, with constant investments in infrastructure, technologies, R&D, systematically improving production processes and products.

All plants, specialised by product lines, use advanced production technologies and safety systems that allow the company to be at the forefront of control methodologies, supply chain programs and meat identification and labelling processes.

Inalca controls the entire production chain to guarantee the traceability of each single cut and with the aim of enhancing all the processing phases and ensuring efficiency, safety and constant quality standards of the highest level.

The control of all phases, together with the implementation of the most modern technologies, has allowed the company to improve production efficiency and to obtain tangible results also in terms of environmental sustainability.

In order to make production more circular and valorise every part of the bovine, Inalca produces a wide range of by-products: plasma protein and haemoglobin, flour and fat, which the company processes in fully automated systems and on specific production lines.

Integrated beef chain

For years Inalca has been involved in building its own bovine supply chain and has promoted a series of strategic investments in farms and agreements with the main national zootechnical organisations aimed at valorising and protecting breeding in Italy.
The Inalca supply chain is integrated because the company controls every single step, and it is sustainable, because thanks to a cutting-edge system the impacts of the products on the environment are measured with the aim of reducing their effects.
Today Inalca is the largest Italian bovine breeder, with a capacity of 180,000 heads reared on its own farms, directly or in agistment.
Also in Poland, the company controls a company active in cattle breeding and now has about 20,000 cattle raised in the country.

Inalca Worldwide

In Russia the company specializes in the distribution of food products to foodservice with 8 distribution platforms and in the production and marketing of beef, hamburgers and bacon with 2 production plants. The Odintsovo branch consists of an industrial complex which includes one of the most modern distribution and logistics platforms in Russia and one avant-garde production plant for bacon and hamburgers. Also in Russia, Inalca is present with an integrated slaughtering and meat processing plant equipped with the most modern technologies.

In Poland, the company has recently started slaughtering and meat processing activities in the brand new plant in Sochocin.

In Africa, Inalca is present in 6 countries with 15 distribution platforms consisting of modern refrigerated warehouses and food product depots. In the African market Inalca commercialises a broad range of frozen products such as meat, fish, chicken and at room temperature products such as pasta, olive oil and canned meats. In Angola, Inalca has recently initiated the transformation and preparation of beef and pork products and has launched 2 cash & carry stores for direct sale to the public. In Algeria, Inalca today manages the breeding, deboning and packaging activities of beef and opened 2 cash & carries with butcher counters and the sale of products marketed by the group.

In Italy, Inalca has 16 plants specialising in varying activities, including slaughtering, deboning, processing, packaging, and the distribution of meats. Abroad there are 5 processing plants, located in Russia (2), Africa (2) and Poland.

Through its own network of 25 distribution platforms, Inalca manages directly  distribution centres in Russia (Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Rostov, Samara, Sochi and Voronezh), Kazakhstan (Astana, Almaty), and Africa (Algeria, Angola, Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, and the Ivory Coast).
