support to food research

With the creation, in 2006, of the “Montana Award for Food Research”, the Cremonini Group has pledged every year to sustain young Italian researchers (the age limit is 40 years old), and encourage scientific research on food, certain in this way to give an important contribution to the issues of quality, innovation and development that will ensue.

The Objective of the Award is to promote and encourage research in food, highlighting the importance for human health.

Considering the vastness of scope of research in the field of food, the edition of the Award is divided into two macro-area themes: Food Quality and Health (technology, safety and food quality) and Nutrition and Health (health, diet and human nutrition).

The Montana Award amounts in total to 150,000 Euro which, apart from special cases noted in the proclamation, is divided between the 1st prize worth 100,000 Euro and the 2nd place prize of 50,000 Euro, irrespective of the thematic area.

Each individual Award is divided between the winning Researcher and an institute of research ( the winners own institute or one of his choice) in the following fashion: 2/3rds  of the Award to the Researcher and 1/3rd to the institute.

From 2006 to date more than 400 researches from universities and research centres throughout  Italy have been selected.
