CREMONINI STEPS ONBOARD TURKISH TRAINS
It has been awarded the tender for catering services,
with a total turnover of about 22.5 million Euro
Castelvetro di Modena, 20th May 2016 – Chef Express S.p.a., a company of Cremonini Group, through its subsidiary Cremonini Restauration, has won the tender issued by the Turkish State railway company (TCDD - Turkiye Cumhuriyeti Devlet Demiryollari) for the management of catering services onboard both high-speed and local trains.
The new contract, which was awarded after an international contest, begins 20th May, has a duration of 3 years and a total turnover of approximately 22.5 million Euro is expected.
The catering services regard the priority routes Istanbul-Ankara-Konya, as well those to Izmir and to the east of the country, for an initial total of 66 trains served daily.
The catering offer will concern the Business class services (meal served at your seat for customers), the management of the onboard Bistrot and the mini-bar service.
Adjudicating the contract confirms Cremonini's position among the top European players in the onboard train catering sector, with activities carried out by different subsidiaries on high-speed trains in Britain, France, Belgium, Germany and Holland. Chef Express, the company of Cremonini Group that controls all the catering activities, achieved in 2015 total revenues of 511.3 million Euro, with more than 25% obtained in Europe by the onboard train activities.
